As a voice in the 21st century, Dr. Willie Mae Hawkins speaks and shares
insights to a variety of audiences: women, singles, parents, children of
single parent homes, absent parents, and leaders. She is a sought-after
conference and convocation speaker. She lecturers to leaders who are
interested in empowering the single parent family.
Dr. Hawkins is the founder and president of Spring, Inc.- A National Single
Parenting Ministry. Its mission is ministering to strengthen single parents
to be the best for themselves, their children, and the Kingdom of God.
Spring offers mentoring, coaching, and counseling for individuals and
families. It also conducts workshops and seminars www.spring-inc.org. She
is also the CEO of JustUs-Resources for Single Parents, a consulting
agency that provides services to community organizations, such as social
services, schools, shelters, court systems and others. www.justus-resoures.

As ordained clergy, Dr. Hawkins serves as a Regional Women’s Ministry
Consultant on behalf of the national office in the United Church of Christ
(UCC). Serving over 219 churches as a liaison and resource
representative, she provides spiritual support for more than 20,000 women.
She offers her gifts as a speaker, lecturer, and workshop/seminar

She is the author of several books including She Builds a Vineyard: A
Single Parent’s Transformational Journey and the Journal. She Builds
a Vineyard is a spiritual autobiography that exemplifies the struggle of a
single parent who makes a stable life for herself and her son, with God on
their side. It is a book of hope, faith, and transformation. www.

Presently, she serves as an associate pastor at Maple Temple United
Church of Christ, Raleigh, NC. Her servanthood also includes: having
served as a therapist in mental health rendering counseling services to
adults and children, an adjunct religion instructor, and a hospital chaplain
providing pastoral care and counseling where received three clinical
pastoral education (CPE) units.
Her numerous membership includes: NAACP, Licensed Professional
Counselors Association of North Carolina, American Diabetes Association,
National Council of Negro Women and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Dr. Hawkins has earned several degrees: Associate Degree in Business
Computer Programming from Nash Community College, Rocky Mount, NC;
Bachelor Science in Business Administration from Barton College, Wilson,
NC; a Masters of Divinity from Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA; and
a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Renewal from Regent University,
Virginia Beach, VA. She has also studied at United Theological Seminary,
Dayton, Ohio; East Carolina University, Greenville, NC; and NC State
University, Raleigh, NC.
Among all of her learnings and accomplishments, she is the proud parent of
Willie Ray’von Hawkins.
